The Department of Dentistry was established in 1976. A master’s program in Clinical Dentistry was inaugurated in 1992, followed by the doctoral program in 2000. In 2006, in line with the university’s academic restructuring policy, the department and graduate institute were consolidated into a single entity, integrating the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs into a coherent academic system. The department is dedicated to advancing dental education reform, promoting evidence-based clinical training, and strengthening international research in oral medicine. Its mission is to cultivate dental professionals of both clinical competence and ethical integrity. Over the decades, the department has produced numerous accomplished dentists and dental educators, many of whom have become leaders and innovators in major dental institutions worldwide.
